Leading Edge brings a friendly and professional approach to flying; consisting of 2 divisions who work together to provide the best facility for pilots, student pilots, aircraft owners and instructors. Our sister company ACS Aviation Ltd provides Engineering, and Commercial Flight Training at Perth Airport.

Leading Edge Flight Training is our flying school for flight training, and operates from Cumbernauld Airport and Inverness Airport.    With our training partners we can also provide PPL training and Commercial Training at Perth.

Leading Edge Flying Club at Cumbernauld provides a friendly base for pilots in Central Scotland.

PPL Training Newsletter - coming soon

Leading Edge Flight Training is probably the largest provider of pilot training in Scotland. Working with our partners we can arrange and provide the whole range of training from the initial PPL and NPPL, right up to the Commercial Pilots Licence.

  • Central Scotland: Leading Edge Flight Training at Cumbernauld airport is within easy each of Glasgow, Edinburgh and the whole of the central belt.
  • Highlands: Highland Aero Club at Inverness airport brings a range of aviation activites to the Highlands of Scotland
  • Tayside and Perth: ACS Flight Training at Perth Airport, is convenient for Perth, Dundee, Fife and surrounding areas.

For those who wish to try out flying in a light aircraft we offer a range of trial lessons to wet your appetite. We also offer a number of gift vouchers from our shop for the ideal present of a trial lesson.

Pilot Newsletter - coming soon

Leading Edge Flying Club at Cumbernauld airport is a friendly and convenient base for pilots. We have a number of 2 seat and 4 seat aircraft for hire. You can hire by the hour for short trips or for touring by arrangement.

The club offers a whole range of activities:

  • Fly-outs: where our members take a number of aircraft to interesting parts of Scotland, for a get-together and bbq. Recent destinations have been Islay and Oban.
  • Lectures and social evenings: over the winter and at other times we have a range of guest speakers to talk on topics covering the whole range of flying. These lectures are supported by evening get-togethers and quiz nights.

The clubhouse at Cumbernauld airport has free internet access for pilots to check the latest weather and NOTAMS.
